How we secured a large residential property and business with a complete alarm and intercom system

Large residential properties with mixed-use spaces, such as those that also operate as workplaces, have very specific security needs. With more property and assets to protect and more daily activities, it is important to have a system that is reliable, comprehensive and easy to control.

The homeowner at Delaport reached out to Prosecure because their old setup was not providing the right level of protection: parts of the property were unsecured, some intercom features had stopped working, and there was no professional monitoring or fast response in place.

Basically, they wanted a modern security system that would protect both their home and their on-site business, whilst also making them feel safer in their own home and when they’re away.

And that's exactly what we delivered – a full security upgrade that gave the homeowners complete coverage and far greater peace of mind.

The customer
As mentioned, this customer, who owns a large residential property used for both residential and business purposes, approached us seeking a full security upgrade. The site already had a gated drive and a partially alarmed house, but several areas of the property weren't fully protected.

Our customer wanted to feel confident that everything was properly secured, including all access points, rooms and vulnerable areas. Their goal was simple: to feel safe in their own home and to protect their business at the same time.

The challenge
Before we began our work, the customer was dealing with several issues that affected both their convenience and their overall sense of security. These included:

·         Exposed security – Several doors and windows weren't connected to the alarm system, which left parts of the property exposed.

·         Outdated gate systems – One of the gate intercoms had stopped working because it was still wired into an old BT phone line, so communication at the entrance was unreliable.

·         No external support – The alarm lacked professional monitoring and rapid-response support, and there were no panic buttons available anywhere on the property.

·         No remote access – The system could not be checked or controlled remotely, which made travelling or leaving the property for long periods much more stressful.


These challenges meant the customer didn’t feel safe in their own home, had little confidence in the old security system and was at risk of someone taking advantage of the unprotected areas and stealing things or vandalising the property.

The solution
Prosecure installed a comprehensive alarm and intercom upgrade that addressed all areas of concern and brought the entire system up to modern standards.

Core System Upgrade
We replaced the old equipment with a much more capable setup, which consisted of:

ü  Texecom Premier Elite 48 Panel

ü  Texecom wired non-proxy keypad

ü  New bell box and cover

ü  Texecom SmartCom for mobile app control and external monitoring.


This created a stronger, more advanced, and expandable alarm system that provided the customer with complete protection and made it easier to use on a daily basis.

Coverage of Previously Unprotected Areas
To close the security gaps, we added devices to areas that were previously unprotected, including:

ü  One door in the snooker room

ü  One window in the snooker room

ü  Two doors in the office.


Additional Security Hardware
We also installed:

ü  Three Texecom wireless contact and shock devices for doors

ü  One Texecom wireless shock sensor for the window

ü  One Texecom Wireless Expander for increased flexibility across the system.


Monitoring and Remote Features
The upgraded system was linked to Prosec UK, giving the customer 24-hour monitored protection.

We also enabled mobile app control so the alarm can be armed or disarmed from anywhere, and status updates can be checked instantly.

The payoff
The security upgrade has made a significant difference to the overall level of protection for the property and the owner’s confidence in being at home and away.

Every door and window on the property is now protected, removing the weak points that previously caused concern. With the upgraded system in place, the homeowner feels significantly safer. The combination of monitored security, newly installed panic buttons and rapid response support has given them far greater confidence in their day-to-day safety.

Being able to control the system remotely has also been a major benefit. It removes the stress of wondering whether the property is secure when the customer is away, and makes the alarm far easier to manage.

What’s more, the customer loves how the new equipment gives the property and business a more aesthetically pleasing appearance, thanks to the modern-looking security system.

And now, the intercom issues that once caused frustration have been fully resolved, restoring simple, reliable communication at the gate. Altogether, the upgrade has provided the level of safety, convenience and reassurance the customer was looking for.
